To tackle the growing traffic challenges in Lahore, the authorities have introduced six new traffic management areas across the city. The purpose of these newly designated areas is to streamline traffic flow and improve efficiency at key intersections and roads.
Traffic departments have been set up in Sadar Division and Cantt Division focusing on specific areas. In Sadar Division, traffic management near Jati Umrah has been improved to ensure smooth movement of vehicles.
Nawankot traffic sector includes critical areas like Darbar Shah Farid, Sabzazar Chowk, Rahim Store, Gold Market, Yatim Khana and Sumanabad Chowk. These areas are known for their heavy traffic, and the new department will focus on managing congestion.
Traffic control in Sherakot traffic sector has been extended to busy places like Babu Sabu Chowk, Chhota Babu Sabu Chowk, Liaquat Chowk, Niazi Adda, City Adda and Abdullah Adda. These efforts are expected to reduce barriers in the region.
Niaz Baig Traffic Sector will manage important places like Motorway Naka, Thokar Chowk, Kattarband Road and Izmir Chowk. The sector will also monitor the route from Thokar Chowk to Military Cut, ensuring passage through these busy routes.
The Multan Road Traffic Sector is tasked with regulating traffic in areas such as Military Depot Cut, Hangarwal, Multan Chongi, Mandi Stop, Awan Town, Kharak Nala Chowk, and Bijli Ghar Chowk. This sector will address the persistent traffic flow issues at these locations.
