Tech billionaire Elon Musk confirmed on Saturday that Starlink has applied to start internet services in Pakistan but is "awaiting government approval."
Musk responded to a Pakistani user's post on X, who said Starlink Internet services could "leap Pakistan into the future, where every citizen has the opportunity to connect and thrive".
"Please, let Starlink be our bridge to tomorrow," the user urged the billionaire, who owns X and electric vehicle company Tesla.
Later, in another post tagging Musk, the user claimed that Pakistan had "approved Starlink!"
"Now is the perfect time to bring your transformative internet service to our nation. Millions of people are looking forward to the connectivity, education, and opportunities that Starlink can offer. Please, expedite the launch of Starlink in Pakistan," the user said. said
Musk's confirmation of his intention to launch Starlink in Pakistan comes at a time when the country tops the list of countries most affected by internet shutdowns in 2024.
